Vision and Mission

Sylmar Biotech Health and Engineering Magnet (SBHEM) is a public high school offering two pathways: biomedical/health and engineering. We provide a personalized learning environment emphasizing the importance of a college education and career preparation. We are dedicated to supporting historically marginalized communities and preparing our students for success in STEM and beyond.

 

Our students complete A-G requirements, take classes in their chosen pathways, and participate in summer internships, volunteer opportunities, and dual enrollment college classes with Los Angeles Mission College. As a result, the California State Superintendent has recognized us as a California Distinguished School for our excellence and commitment to providing our students with a quality education. 

 

 

We are committed to empowering each other with the academic and professional skills needed to positively influence our world. We are an informed voice for our people and of service to our community in local and global STEM issues.
